Forgive the cliche, Erin, but you're clearly a poet, and didn't even know it! But seriously… I hold the belief that we are all poets when we are courageous enough to play with language, name feelings and express our true sense of self through words. Poetry does not have to be balanced on a pedestal, untouchable, elite… it can be accessed & created by everyone – from a five year old to a 105 year old, and all ages in between!Thank you for your contributions! Here we are, in our fifteenth year of marriage. The honeymoon was over within the first year. We both know that. But we hung in there, not believing in the traditional fairy tale of the damsel in distress and the knight in shining armor and the happily ever after. But in our day-to-day, mundane and sometimes downright boring reality, we are still living out our own kind of fairy tale. One where people make mistakes, yell too loudly, get lazy, drink too much, get old, gain weight, have miscarriages, and grieve. You continue to create works of art, and I continue to write. We're doing what we said we'd do. We're staying married. We added children to the mix, and more of our dreams came true along with more of the same. We talk a lot and cry a lot and laugh a lot. We made it this far, and I can't imagine it not lasting for the rest of our lives. Just like we said it would. Hand in hand, always.Karen H.
