about rory

I believe passionately that all of the arts provide windows to our souls and psyches, and often we leave those windows shut because our busy lives and busy brains get in the way. My work focuses on opening up new spaces within and making room for fresh creative air. I bring a range of experience to Write To Be You workshops. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Screenwriting from Loyola Marymount University and began my career as a children’s bookseller.  I went on to publish a children’s picture book and continued my studies in London, gaining a Masters Degree in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy from The Institute for the Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE).

I have worked therapeutically with adults and children in schools, universities and non-profit organizations, as well as running creative writing workshops in the UK. I have lived in both London and Los Angeles, have travelled extensively, and am a mother to two teens and one naughty dog!

My first novel Playing Along was released in January 2013.
